After a First Team All-MAC performance, Blake Frohnapfel was expected to be one of the MAC's top prospects as a second-year graduate student. Unfortunately, performance dipped, hype and promise dropped, but he still earned a shot to try out with an NFL team post-draft. As an undrafted free agent, the Marshall and Massachusetts alum will try out with the Indianapolis Colts in rookie mini-camps.

In 2014, Frohnapfel had a great first year by throwing for 3,345 yards with 23 touchdowns, but after being on the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List before the 2015 season began, his yardage dipped to 2,919, his scoring total went down (16) while his interception total went up (10 to 13). In fairness, his completion rate did go up a little bit, going from 55.1 percent (241-for-437) to 56.4 (266-for-472).
His favorite target at UMass, Tajae Sharpe, led the nation with 111 receptions as a senior and was afifth-round draft pickby the Tennessee Titans (140 overall).
