2016 NFL Draft: Willie Beavers drafted by Minnesota Vikings

Willie Beavers, the standout offensive lineman from Western Michigan, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 4th round (121 overall).

After 21 years, the Western Michigan Broncos have finally produced another draft product on the offensive line.

Willie Beavers, the standout tackle that helped the rise of the Broncos into MAC contenders, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with their 121st overall pick in the fourth round. Once a top-5 offensive tackle prospect by NFL.com's Mike Mayock, Beavers slipped a bit due to concerns about his overall strength and his positioning. However,he still dominated in the MAC, lining up against some great NFL youths in Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Shilique Calhoun in his time in Kalamazoo.

Beavers is the first player from the MAC taken in the 2016 draft (after five players from the FCS and a defensive tackle from Manitoba went off the board, but I digress). The Vikings have taken Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell in the first round and cornerback Mackensie Alexander from Clemson in the second.

The Vikings have five more picks this draft at 160, 180, 186, 240 and 244.
