A Letter From The Editor

Andrew Mascharka

Oh man, where do I begin?

For starters, I want to thank you, the reader, for making all of this possible. Without you all, none of us over here at the 'Belt would have an audience to speak out to. If nobody read this site or cared about #MACtion, then there's no telling where I'd be at, or what I'd be doing right now. I've probably written this paragraph about twelve times already just because I can't figure out the words to say how thankful I am for all of this.

***

Ever since I joined Hustle Belt back in early May of last year, I've been able to cover a bunch of different games and events. Just as I started getting adjusted and more comfortable with everything, I found out that Bryan M. Vance would be taking over as HB's new editor-in-chief. I remember him e-mailing everybody asking what their goals were or maybe what they wanted out of their experience here. I don't remember exactly what I said to him, but I do remember thinking that I have no idea what I want out of the Belt, but I'm going to have fun with whatever I do.

我不知道当它发生,但不知何故,我去了from "I have no idea what I want here" to "I want to take over when Bryan can't anymore." Look where we are now, I'm the new editor-in-chief, and we still get to have Bryan. It's a win-win, I think.

如果还没有,请将你所有的“congratulations" and "good lucks" Bryan's way. After countless interviews and job applications, he's finally got a job down in South Carolina to help run a website for a newspaper. Hopefully he becomes a regular at the same hole-in-the-wall bar as Steve Spurrier.

Moreover, I want to point out that without Bryan busting his ass for Hustle Belt, making sure we have an excellent staff stringed together to do our best at covering all of the #MACtion. With said staff, he's done a lot of behind-the-scenes heavy lifting to make this transition much easier. With all of our game coverages, recruiting stories, columns, podcasts and everything else that has a system in place, I'd be extremely lost.

Now don't expect a huge "splash" here, because that's just really unnecessary. We'll still continue to do what we're good at, but one of my biggest goals is to make sure we maximize our potential at Hustle Belt.

So to you, to Bryan, to our staff, to our bosses at SB Nation giving me the keys to this thing, my friends and family, I really do thank you all for this. I'm just really excited for this opportunity.
