2014 Toledo Basketball Recruiting: 2-Star PG Kamau Stokes Commits To Rockets' 2014 Class

Toledo may have found its point guard of the future in 2-star Baltimore product Kamau Stokes.

Tod Kowalczyk added another solid piece to his 2014 recruiting class when he received a verbal commitment from 2014 2-star point guard Kamau Stokes, who made his commitment known on Twitter earlier this week.

Stokes is the third member of Kowalczyk's 2014 recruiting class, joining 2-star forward Kurt Hall and 2-star shooting guard Cuyler "Stuckey" Mosley (Who is already signed). Stokes is a 5-foot-11 point guard out of City College High School in Baltimore.

Just days before committing to the Rockets, Stokes helped his team cap off an undefeated season with a win in the Class 3A Maryland State Championship. He scored 13 points in the win.

According to VerbalCommits.com Stokes had interest from several solid mid-majors, icnluding Richmond and Florida Gulf Coast, and had offers from Delaware and Mount. St. Mary's among others.

Stokes is heralded as a great defensive point guard, with quick feet and impressive handles for a l0w-profile prep player. He also appears to have excellent court vision andhis highlight reels are full of impressive dishes, often of the no-look variety. He also possesses impressive athleticism for a smaller guard. If he can add some bulk to his frame while maintaining his quickness, he could be a fantastic floor general in Kowalczyk's full-court offense.

With Julius Brown set to graduate after next season, and backup point guardJosh Lemonswill be a redshirt sophomore (h/t to @JacobCannon_), it appears Stokes could be the Rockets' next long-term point guard.
