2017 MAC Men's Basketball Recruiting: Kent State Lands Small Forward From Ohio

3-Star Forward B.J Duling is the next future Golden Flash

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Per Verbal Commits, B.J. Duling has committed to Kent State and head coach Ron Senderoff.

Duling is an up-and-coming recruit from Newark, Ohio. Newark is only about 2 hours south of the Kent State campus. This is a major get for Kent State as they try to build a fence around the Ohio state border. Landing in-state recruits is vital to a program's success, and Kent State has done a great job doing just that. Their last three commitments have been from the state of Ohio.

Rivals lists the 6-foot-7 small forward as 3-star recruit with high interest from college basketball powers. According to Rivals, Duling held offers from Iowa, and Toledo with interest from Dayton and Xavier.

Scout writes that Duling is a massive steal because of his versatility, athleticism, and tremendous upside. They also write that he has the ability to play the forward position and also as a guard.

Duling is the first commitment of the 2017 class for the Golden Flashes. This is a magnificent way to start the 2017 recruiting class.
