The Northern Illinois Huskies and head coach Mark Montgomery seem to have found a potential replacement for Eugene German in former Middle Tennessee’ guard Anthony Crump, who committed to NIU on Friday evening.

As a redshirt freshman last season, Crump averaged 2.1 points per game and 1.2 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game. Even though Crump didn’t get to see the court that often, he is certainly capable of high success. The six-foot-eight Detroit, Michigan, native shot an incredible 52 percent from the floor, including 40 percent from behind the three-point line, in his senior yeat at Plymoth (MI) HS.

The Huskies are still in search of another guard in order to fill the void of losing needed German, but the addition of Crump should prove to be one which will at the very least stop the bleeding a bit. At six-foot-eight, Crumb could also be capable of a shift to small forward in certain lineups.

Nevertheless, NIU needed another body to compete with the conference and Anthony Crump should help in a big way.
